That three wheeler and that motor with those small wheels - it will be crazy to the point of not being driveable

Re: Higher temperature hall-effect sensors

Although it might seem like an easy fix at this point your hall sensors are telling you that you need to change your system. Just get a bigger motor or a smaller rear wheel or a geared setup and use it for years without hickups. Motors shouldn’t be hall sensor cooking hot in everyday use 8)

Re: qs 1000w builds

That's possibly not an issue if you cut the original sprocket down enough in diameter. I doubt it will fit on the inside though, isn't it pretty tight already?

Re: qs 1000w builds

just buy a hubless sprocket and make the hole oversize, they are called platewheels or sprocket "type A".

Re: qs 1000w builds

It’s a bad idea for long term. Bolt the sprocket you want to the outside of the sprocket that fits, if needed cut it down with an angle grinder. 1 hour job at the most :D

Re: ”The barge” efoil build

Made a cradle for the controller with some angle brackets, to keep it in place during riding and maintain heat exchange to the outside of the box.

Re: ”The barge” efoil build

Block will be connected to the outside water through an alu plate so the heat has somehere to go, if that doesn’t work i’ll get active water cooling. I like simple systems so it will have to evolve only as needed  5FE6D682-6153-4A97-B2A4-574B4ADB8061.jpeg And.. I’ll post videos when i’m at pro...

Re: ”The barge” efoil build

Improving the heat management of the controller: mounting a 400g alu block with heat paste between the two. Simple, crude but effective for a while :D

Re: ”The barge” efoil build

I don’t think it’s really so hard that it’s needed, i just need some practise :D I think the key is to have the board planing and just do small lifts/flights at first, then the water just catches you without a crash instead of smacks you and you get a lot more done :D Btw, i saw a video where the su...

Re: Is BLDC motor field weakening bad for the magnets?

Is this bad for the permanent magnets? Should I be judicious with the flux weakening settings on my controller? The field weakening leads to lower efficiency/higher temperature in most ebike motors and can demagnetize neodym during these conditions. Yes, you should be careful with field weakening s...

Re: ”The barge” efoil build

Some things will be updated on the efoil when i’m back home: -Arming switch to be moved to where it doesn’t get knocked off - Heat exchanger plate for controller in side of enclosure - Small wall (hot glue) on bottom of enclosure for stopping battery from shifting during splash Motor updates - filli...

Re: ”The barge” efoil build

Checked efoil weight: 31.5 kg (ready to go with everything on it)

The gong wing, fuselage and stab alone is 3.5 kg, a lot could be saved by going to a different foil.

Re: ”The barge” efoil build

I’ll weigh it, good idea! I can already find some optimization points, cutting some kilos won’t be difficult. It’s a bit overbuilt now. I think the foil could be placed more rearwards and board be shorted from 180cm to 150 or so. It should be a bit more rounded off course, now the wind gets it. I’d ...

Re: QS MOTOR,0.5-14kW Electric Hub Motor Manufacture China

Thank you for your interest, the 180 90H motor is ready, we are testing it with VOTOL and APT controller. It seems VOTOL EM300 is not good, we are building e-tricyle to mount 180 mid drive motor with APT 72600 controller. It's in test process... What are the specifications for the APT 72600? Phase ...

first flight today :D :D :D
Once up on the wing it's a lot harder to balance and it speeds up quite a bit :D

I smacked into the water like 50 times so i feel quite beat up but still extremely happy with this build, three weeks to build a functioning efoil from scratch is not bad :thumb:

that's a lot better looking up close, still easy to crack with only a slight bump. did they charge extra for the hall option?
