That is lethal voltage levels there, which is alright for a major manufacturer like Tesla, but for hobbyists would be scary.

No one here at the Endless Sphere forum rides any bicycle store bought ebikes (Trek, Giant etc) its either all or nothing. DIY ebikers hang out on the Endless Sphere forum. Store bought ebikers hang out over in the MTBR forums ebike thread. Where any mention of 1000W gets you warned because its ille...

Yeah but there is a down side to moped/motorcycle rims/tires/tubes, they are a lot heavier then bicycle stuff.

Re: Help and advice for a 3kw ebike build

I heard/read here on ES that them sabatovs (spelling error?!?!?) take a learning curve on the programming side. Might be a CANBUS thing, might not even have CANBUS, cant remember, easy to search here on ES. Bicycles are not meant to go 50mph, or 40mph. Imagine hitting a pot hole at those speeds. You...

Re: Help and advice for a 3kw ebike build

Your mxus 3000w idea is right, but no need to worry about cassette option, just get the normal hub with a freewheel on it. While ebiking we hardly use any gears at all, some of use no gears at all, some will use one gear fixed gear. A 1x7 drive train is plenty for ebiking, while hardly using more th...

"Best bang for the buck" "Delivers far above the price point" Aint no store purchased bike or no Luna bought bike. The solution is in a plug and play kit that you place on a real bicycle with millions and millions of dollars spent on frame geometry design, strength testing, rider positioning, human ...

open up the charger, and see if there is any black marks indicating a bad component, also check the fuses that is the easy part the hard part is do you replace the parts, and solder them in and see if it works, because something else down the line may have fried as well. I fried a few Meanwell charg...

I am glad you didnt say you had to be X wattage because of legislation.
Because otherwise I'd go on a rant about giving the middle finger to "The Man" but I digress.

Re: Repairs Upgrades and more

Been riding around for months now with 4 broken spokes. Replaced them with some brand new 167mm single gauge Sapim's. I like to get the spoke ends inside the nipple holes all the same (hence the flashlight), then true it on the bike, hillbilly style: eyeballing the rims edge to a piece of tape on th...

One hangup going from w7 to w10 is that a Steam game I have played 1000's of hours, is now clitchy asfuck. Not that any games I play are even A rated let alone AA or AAA, think mid circa 1990's graphic levels. Now if I were to find and easily play the original Railroad Tycoon that'll be cool! Some o...

The batteries you are looking at should be from reputable builders/sellers like em3ev and grintech, because the basement dwellers flinging batteries to fleabay/ali's are not worth a second even looking at.

Re: Dahon folding bionx kit. Complete?

Find out if the battery is stuck to the BionX system which it probably is, probably something in the bms circuit of the battery that will shut things down, but to me thats no big deal because you want to be able to use NON BIONX components. Controllers are cheap, batteries are not. I have seen a few...

Save lots of money being able to spin wrenches on your own vehicle.
Buying older late model vehicles means lots of available used parts.

That is an attraction some owners would have, but not all.

Great points made. Maybe what society has to do is look at their driving behaviour, the husband dont need no Ford F150 and the wifey dont need no Toyota 4Runner as a daily commuter to the cubical. Gas gussling behemoths, getting no gas mileage at all. Look at Europe, they drive small fuel efficient ...

You make a great point on the front motor aspect and loose wire. I have a front 9C generic, and I got a loop of wire straying 8" out and zip tied. I notice that when I lock up at a bike rack, I have to be ultra careful so the wires dont snag. Already came close with the wire bundle catching and almo...

Sometimes I aint in the mood to talk to anyone, and the same questions get annoying. Lots of stares, lots of glares, lots of looks, lots of turned heads.
