Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Thanks Casainho what you are doing is pretty cool. I like where this is going. So thinking about best options for the near future, I have people asking me which firmware to use and which display to buy. Although I am still on the ktlcd3 (and am very happy besides no field weakening code).. right now...

Hi Casainho, would love to hear some talking in your video to describe what is going on.. I didn't quite understand it. I assume you still need the controller and this can basically set different actions via your garmin? What I would love to see and I think you may already do this is to log gps/hear...

Re: TSDZ2 open source firmware only for KT-LCD3 (v0.19.0 / v.0.20.0beta1)

Of course it's the same signal wire but if you want a throttle you shpuld have bought a bafang, the beauty of this motor is it's torque sensor, enjoy ;) If you hold the down button while moving then cruise control will kick in and give you a rest, this should be good enough. I think the temperature ...

Re: TSDZ2 open source firmware only for KT-LCD3 (v0.19.0 / v.0.20.0beta1)

without a coder I'm afraid we have no choice but to go to a supported display

I dont mind the sw102 but not sure whether it can display the same information as the kt-lcd3 and whether the code is stable to use ?

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Just regarding the graph above. Boost and transition... There has to be some thought going into how to implement that properly On my bosch motor if you stop pedalling just after boost comes in you literally loose all assistance for a couple of seconds which really sucks. Although it's a very short t...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Totally agree with above, my bosch cx is way more powerful than the tsdz2, when I travel up my steep hill at 25km/hr in turbo I estimate at least 800w since I can only do about 18km/hr roughly topping out at around 550w on the tsdz2. For EU the 250w is only a sustained amount of power that does not ...

Re: TSDZ2 open source firmware only for KT-LCD3 (v0.19.0 / v.0.20.0beta1)

Casainho has been updating the 850c code so it's pretty much in par with the 20b1 code in terms of functionality.

Not sure if it would just be easier to get the 850c code to talk with the ktlcd3 ?

Re: TSDZ2 open source firmware only for KT-LCD3 (v0.19.0 / v.0.20.0beta1)

Hey guys keep the development going. Just wondering if anyone is on top of the field weakening code that casainho has just introduced in his 860 version? Is it possible to just use that firmware on the ktlcd3 with some minor mods or do we need to understand the changes and copy them over to 20beta1?...

Dont be frightened the aim of the project is to achieve maximum efficiency at all speeds up to 120 rpm, rest assured that you will not feel any difference if you struggle to reach 100 As I said before it is very rare to peddle above 100 but when you have to the last thing you want is for the motor t...

All the top end ebikes go to 120 cadence. I can't remember ever topping out on my trek powerfly yet I have topped out rpm on my tsdz2 many times. So please aim for 120 as a maximum

And what is the mas cadence RPM for you? Maybe the 125 is to much? I think 125 would be awesome. Not sure if you saw my last video but I was able to get to 128 with a 36v motor using 14s and high cadence setting and only 115 on 10s which is my normal ride. Currently power drops off quite a bit at t...

Field weakening: increase motor speed / pedal cadence over battery voltage limit Hi Casainho, very interesting. I'm curious when do you use the cadence over 90rpm? Is it on the steep hills using your lowest gear to climb a hill on your MTB? I personally stay most of the time at 60-80 rpm as recreat...

Re: TSDZ2 open source firmware only for KT-LCD3 (v0.19.0 / v.0.20.0beta1)

Anyone seen the latest changes on the 850c version. Looks like a change from using battery current to motor current could be a good thing ? Is it worth doing a source compare and copying out the code for this ?

Btw has anyone used 15s with the lcd3 ? Is it reliable ?

Did you see that Ackmaniac did something to take into account the cadence for less overrun
Maybe have a look at that and see if its also worth incorporating

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Thank you so much Elinx, I was able to install the original marco version on a friend's bike and he was pretty happy with it. The configurator didn't like the default location of stvp because of the spaces so I copied it over to the c drive and it works.
Thanks again JB

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only) for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Very interesting, thanks. What were your settings for maximum battery current and motor power limit? I'd be interested to know if the torque is reduced in high cadence mode and if so, is it across the whole range or only when you go above what would be considered normal maximum cadence. I use 18a m...

Hi jalabat, very nice your test I already use the high cadence mode on the engine powered at 36 and I am very satisfied, I saw on your video that when you go from 42V to 58.8V you only change the 14S battery type, but not change the motor settings (from 36V to 48V) why? when you use a native 36V in...
