Re: Taycan video with some useful information

I really liked this small tidbit of info in the battery and charging section. (for example, 50 kW maximum charging doesn’t require any preconditioning). 33.5 kWh battery in my 2017 FFE refuses to take any decent amps at my local DCFC, before it reaches temp of 0C, and sometimes, if it was cold overn...

Kalashnikov's CV-1 electric car touted as Russia's answer to Tesla
This is just a test vehicle for the EV technology.
Trust me, even Russians know about drag coefficient nowadays.

Re: Kalashnikov's CV-1 electric car

I have a fondness for soviet engineering. They have some very smart people in Russia, and the powers-that-be impose severe restrictions on their design goals. One of the few books I picked up and could not put down until I finished it was a short memoir bout a N. Korean pilot who defected to S. Kor...

Re: gas price thread

C$1.22 per litre in Toronto. Don't miss these blood sucking monsters one second. In front is my brand new 2017 Ford Focus Electric. Haven't paid a cent since I got it last week, thanks to the local Ikea for the free fast DC-DC charger, I've done already 524 km, and saved C$57 on gasoline alone. P.S....

Re: Tesla Self Crashing Car has First Fatality

From historical point of view, people who is against self-driving cars, should look back 50 years ago. Cars then had no seatbelts, period. 50 years fast forward, seatbelts are mandatory, as is ABS and 10 air bags. As soon as there will be enough data to prove that self-driving cars are 100 times bet...

Re: Tesla Self Crashing Car has First Fatality

I've been of the opinion that this technology shouldn't ever be trusted more than an attentive driver. I don't quite trust that it will always recognize pedestrians and cyclists, nor do I trust its ability to judge what functions to execute in the case that an accident is unavoidable. 105 people wi...

Re: Who has bought EM3EV's bicycle frames and how do you lik

Received my frame yesterday from EM3EV. Early birthday present :) Overall, very impressed, quality, packaging, attention to detail, etc. Except for one thing: one of pivots, which connects swing arm to the frame is slightly bent in, and now won't fit in. I've tried filing off paint on connecting sur...

Re: JP spot welder

I'm not against the battery supplied, its just that I have 220 pieces of A123 26650 sitting on the shelf, doing nothing for the last 2 years.
Pretty sure I'll be able to use my cells for your welder.

Re: Comments from strangers about your bike

Comments from strangers never bother me. I use my bike mostly for commuting, 9 months out of 12, beats car ownership hands down. On my way to work this morning, guy in Altima pulls beside me, starts saying how cool my bike is, and how he liked my speed, 58 km/h Damn, gotta check settings on my CA, p...

Re: Genesis Swingarm aka Farfle Swing arm new production run

Generally its probably bad form to sell something on someone else's sale thread but in this case it doesn't bother me. I didn't design these from scratch or come up with the original idea so I cant say I didn't benefit from others work to get them to where they are. Thanks Dan, swing arm sold, pend...
