Oh wow. So it does not slide? You just set it in place and then latch it?
Correct.

Re: Sourcing a Battery Mount

Looks like a shark or dolphin type case. Might add a pic of the underside. The rails. Thanks Here's a pic of the underside of the battery. This mount has a latch on the front (top)? as well as the connection at the bottom for the discharge port. The mount itself is keyed where the top latch is, not...

Sourcing a Battery Mount

I recently had my bike stolen (from my garage). The only blessing is that I had the battery pack in the house so still have it. However to use it elsewhere I am looking for the mount to put it on another bike. Can anyone point me to a site where I might find one? Also not sure what they call the for...

Here are a couple of generic charts I got somewhere where it has been translated to a 48V and a 52V pack:

Re: Lipo vs "deep cycle" marine battery capacity question

You can ignore most of what I posted as at that earlier point in this thread, I assumed the OP was talking about 18650 lithium cells as he had not stated what he was using.

As mentioned later in the thread, the discharge curves for the LiPo pouch cells may be completely different.

Re: Lipo vs "deep cycle" marine battery capacity question

dilkes, Would the data in the link apply to the lipo cells I intend to use? I'd go with 18650's if I didn't recently purchase a manufacturer liquidation stock of over 300 lipo packs originally intended for tablet use. Depends what cells you are using. But the discharge curve will likely be similar....

Re: Lipo vs "deep cycle" marine battery capacity question

Thanks for the replies guys. Use will be the front deck of a kayak. Likely enclosed in an aluminum or kevlar housing. The thing I wanted to wrap my head around the most is the rated Ah of a pack vs its actual usage Ah available if you're trying to charge to 4.15 V and discharge to 3.6 since that's ...

Re: How to Use a Watt Meter

In simple terms:
The wattmeter can measure Ah used and Wh used. It has no way of knowing how much was in the tank when you started. You need to supply (or guess at) that and do the math.

The post above gives some ideas on determining the starting battery capacity.

Re: Confusing battery info

I have to say that is a VERY low price for a 48V 18Ah pack, especially with free shipping and Panasonic cells! $118Cdn is about $90USD. If you do buy one, I would be curious about how the transaction goes.

Re: Axle trying to leave Dropouts when Tightening

Now that you are using bigger motors, it is time to make proper mounts. You can’t just put the motor wheel in your bike’s dropouts and hope that you can tighten the nuts enough to hold it. Your motor axle must not rely on axle nuts to secure its position. In fact, you know that your mounts are good...

Charging 14s pack with LiFePO4 charger

Is there any reason not to charge a 52V (14s) Lithium Ion pack with a 48V LiFePO4 (16s) charger? The terminal voltages are almost the same.

To reduce the amount of time the charger is running while unattended, I use a simple countdown timer like this: https://www.amazon.com/Woods-Countdown-8-Hour-Grounded-Indoors/dp/B00FSQTSB8/ref=sr_1_43?keywords=woods+timer&qid=1567978715&s=gateway&sr=8-43 and set it for 1, 2, or 4 hrs depending on ho...

Re: Front wheel making a popping sound

I'm not sure what the "popping sound" sounds like so this could be off base. On my fat bike bike I had a (crunching?) sound that I couldn't get rid of and eventually determined that the tire was not 100% properly seated in the rim - even though it looked fine. There are a number of posts on the web ...

Re: Paralell charging with a split coax Male to 2 Female 5.5 * 2.1 mm DC

You can of course do the parallel charging, but if it were me, I would just get a 2nd charger. These chargers can fail over time and having a spare means you won't be left high and dry scrambling to get one.

Charging 14s pack with 13s charger

If I were to charge a 14s pack with a charger built for 13s (54.6V), any idea how much capacity would I be giving up? Is there any problem/danger doing this? I assume each cell would be at about 3.9V instead of 4.2V.

I realize I will need to periodically charge with a 52V charger to balance the pack.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I'm considering installing a TSDZ2 on a friend's cargo trike. It may be a bit of a non-standard set up because of the bottom bracket config.

Does anyone know where I can find an engineering type drawing that shows all the dimensions of the motor?

Electrifying Cargo Trike - options

A friend has a cargo trike - 1 wheel at the back and 2 at the front. The rear wheel has a Nexus 7-speed internal hub, so I don't think they should put a hub motor on the rear. Therefore options seem to be (1) a mid-drive or (2) hub motor(s) on the front wheel(s). Questions: 1. Would a hub motor on j...

Re: Battery upgrade (voltage or amp hours) for longer distance and speed

If you think in terms of watt-hours per Km, then if you double the number of cells - either (a) in parallel keeping the same pack voltage but doubling the amp-hrs or (b) in series, increasing the pack voltage but keeping the Ah the same you will pretty much double your range - assuming you ride in e...
