Re: Axiom: a 100kW+ motor controller

With the rotation in the error signals you have the 45 degree rotation in the control loop (giving you the stability) but not in the wanted Id and Iq (so you remain FOC). I have this 45 degree rotation in the error signals for both sensored and sensorless modes Lebowski, are you saying the 45 deg r...

Re: Lebowski controller IC 2.B0 source code and (short) explanation

To explain the 45 degree thing further, controlling real and imaginary current at the same time is basically a 2 dimensional control problem. To reach the steady state your updates need to 'walk' straight to the steady state point. However, the information telling your in which direction to walk is ...

Re: What Strange Build do YOU have Bubbling inside?

I have a 10kW hubmotor with no hub but with holes and threads for a disk brake lying around. An me602 I believe. I also have a 8kW Honda Wave 110 scooter in which the motor is not a load bearing member... replacing the 110cc unit with the hubmotor and a sprocket (attached using the threaded holes) c...

How about using fieldweakening, where the motor inductors kind of perform the job of the boost inductors ?

I still have rubbering shakes when i drive at speed. I tried to rebuild my speedo sensor and it is now out of the way of magnet collar. Feeling is kind of like you would drive on tiles. But when i investigated further it seems this only happens when i have the steering wheel centered or to the righ...

Re: APL's DIY axial-flux motor

You can run a SRM sensorless from start with full torque... the tech is what I uploaded here on ES. With a SRM everything is based on the wire inductances varying a lot with the rotor angle. The most difficult bit about a 5 phase controller is finding the appropriate micro processor, one that has 5 ...

Also, any clarification as to how "true FOC" can work in a sensorless setup would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain

I used caps per schematic... 1nf if I recall correctly. Should I use less? I dont use any 4K7 pullups since sensors provide push pull signal of their own. I will remove hall assisted setting and test again. BR I think the advanced chip you use is sensitive to the magnet being exactly centered above...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain

I would not use hall assisted sensorless, then try again. It sounds like the halls cant keep up with the higher motor speed or you have too much caps on the hall lines. Sensorless should be fine.

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain

Just saw the post on your leafdriveblog about backing out and throttle being twitchy. What you can do is in the throttle menu, change coefficients from1,0,0 (which is linear throttle, so .5 throttle gives you .5 torque) to 0,1,0 which is quadratic throttle (so 0.5 throttle gives 0.25 torque). This s...

Re: Lebowski controller IC 2.B0 source code and (short) explanation

I think there is some confusion as to what the 45 degree rotation of the error signal looks like. I use it for both sensored and sensorless, but the example here is sensored: foc_diagram.png The picture above is the standard setup for sensored FOC you see everywhere. The bit I changed is in this sec...

Re: Lebowski controller IC 2.B0 source code and (short) explanation

All (voltage) signals are differential, and almost all are with respect to ground. I would wire twist all signals with a ground wire. The ground twisted wire should be connected on both ends. If your resolver or hall signals are far away, also wire twist these. An exception to most voltages beong gr...

Lebowski i got an idea... and that could be good, or it could be disaster. You never know by me :). How is the throttle function used in code? Is it possible to use it as auto-throttle with a timer and a single input? Instead of analog input there would be 1 or 0 (5V signal) If signal would be 1, f...

The CAN as implement now is a custom protocol only meant for talking to other controller ICs... it does not conform to any standard so wont work with normal automotive CAN stuff.. but you can always change the code and make this yourself.
