Re: Serious FOCer (84V VESC 6 based controller)

Why would you want anything under 24 or 36V? 1S is simple and allows for more power dense motor designs with simplified bms. Only down side really is you have to run larger wires. Thats very much not the case. Simple bms yes but it definitely does not result in more power dense motors, in fact quit...

hubmonsterHE $700 used with 13inch rim

I have one of these motors for sale. It is unmodified. I also have my other modified one available for parts (the one I used on my MB-5).. It may need a rewind and the magnets seem like they are in rough shape.

Re: Serious FOCer (84V VESC 6 based controller)

I powered it with a separate supply I believe.

Is this open sourced? I didn't read the whole thread. Maybe after enough revs of the 15V+ version you'd let me try modifying it.

Re: Serious FOCer (84V VESC 6 based controller)

a 1S version of this controller would be nice... I have a skateboard hub design for 1S but I blew my VESC6 trying to get it above 100A.. current scaling was an issue as well as the DRV on there kept breaking. but I was able to change the software to allow 1S. I think I separated the power stage supp...

I think it would work out that way if it was designed for select few levers with a defined range

Re: "INDEX THROTTLE" - Interlink FSR 400 Based Throttle/Regen Button- Brainstorm

Those sensors don't like being folded or even curved unless the radius is very large. They also need to be vented and the vent would need to be protected against water ingress. I have a bunch of similar sensors from another project. You may need a simple circuit to linearize and scale the output. M...

Re: "INDEX THROTTLE" - Interlink FSR 400 Based Throttle/Regen Button- Brainstorm

This might work as a good sensor on a brake lever for proportional regen. Do you think it would be able to provide significant range of output before the brakes (cable-actuated Avid BB7 in my case) begin to apply noticeable / significant mechanical braking? I didn't really envision it being actuate...

Re: Interlink FSR 400 Based Throttle -- Design Brainstorm

Here's the general idea. You'd have to cut a small hole or slot in your grip end flange near the clamping area. The little bump is where the throttle is. It could be more pronounced, but I think this will just about do. If you'd like to 3D print it and test the ergonomics, I can link the cad. https:...

Stealthy Index Finger Throttle/Regen Variable Pressure Button

Once upon a time I bought a whole bunch of FSR 400 sensors and now I'm looking to sell them. They are hard to sell as standalone parts. They are the kind without the crimped connector because I was interested in mounting them to PCB directly with 3M Z-axis tape (3703?). The crimps limit the usefulne...

My skateboard motor has a halbach. It's not practical to assemble, and I don't know how it will hold up on the road. Still working on the 1S motor but it takes $$ to develop crazy things

Very good work guys. I have an esk8 motor I call Trillium.. it has sort of dragged on. Perfectionism kills. I'll be sending it to Justin for review... has 6063 rotor and has been extruded.

Luke, you would ditch all Leaf systems in doing that right...? Including the bms which I think limits to around 275A? I want to do the same it just sounds like a huge PITA. Please try!

Re: Make a watercooled high kw motor and I'll buy it !

Jestronix, you're asking for the wrong thing. The best way to deal with heat is to not make it to begin with. That means a more efficient motor. People jump thru ridiculous hoops to make crap motors disperse heat better, when for the same price they could have had hubmotors to run at up to 10-15kw ...
