Re: EV-power Australia Ltd

I thought it might have been a typo but Alibaba list them. His reply to my query was he "thinks" they are which indicated to me they don't actually assemble them. I have a 24v system so I was considering using 2 of them. At <$300 it seems an attractive proposition. I also am curious about his patent...

EV-power Australia Ltd

I accidentally left my battery connected for the past three months and consequently it now no longer works. :-( A company of the above name has some LiFePo4 for sale at what seems a very good price and it has "Rods BMS" incorporated for balancing. No idea how it works but I assume I can always open ...

Re: Is PCM good enough to replace BMS?

It should be ok. The big difference is a BMS will look at the total voltage and give you cutoff of the battery. I have no idea what will happen if one PCM module drops out. Will the rest of the battery continue to function at reduced voltage? I would include a total voltage alarm on the battery as w...

Re: amp/voltmeter connection question

If you don't mind an analogue readout, why not just use a moving iron meter?? You can even get ones I understand with fairly linear scales now. (We never had such luxuries 8) ). You could use it to check your digital set up. Its biggest draw back would be the extra cabling needed to get it to where ...

Re: Thread for new battery breakthrough PR releases

Unfortunately hydro power may not be as "green" as we would like. Damming rivers can have secondary effects that aren't very good for the environment in other ways then carbon. The Chinese 3 rivers is just one example. The Snowy river in Oz and some of the US major dams have had bad effects downstre...

Re: Thread for new battery breakthrough PR releases

There is no such thing as an aluminium mine. Aluminium is made from bauxite plus an enormous amount of energy. While it may be a portable fuel source once made, it, at present, has an appalling carbon footprint if made from coal fired power stations. It is also expensive to make.........

Ebay or whatever you have to get proper material for the foam. This battery is so tolerant of substitutions on all other materials, but the foam must be right for success. I found out since then that the NZ Post office has a service for cases like this. You get the company to send it to an NZ Post ...

Type BVM-8S......into google. The cell log has a better screen but u have to make your own alarms. the BVM comes with a plugable unit. Hint if u buy it: The plug end is very weak. encase it in hot melt or something. I have had to solder it direct to the meter as the little plugs seem to be made from...

I should have said LVC alarm point. I don't have a BMS on one battery and have not yet found out the capabilities of the board on the used battery I bought recently. (no one could identify it from the photo ) I rely on the controller and my BVM to let me know the state of the battery. The BVM is set...
