Re: Can over-spinning a small wheel cause over-volt problems?

I used to have overvoltage error withy Sabvoton but it was seldom therefore I never looked for true reason behind it. I would reboot the controller on the go with ON/OFF key on my scooter, it takes about 2 or 3 seconds (plus reaction time); might put one in dangerous situation especially if road is ...

Not answer to your question but...
Unlocked it has 200 battery amps and 450a phase amps. I doubt you can request more amps through it without changing some parts.

Re: spoke length for 16'' moto rim for 205 hub

You are right no arguing about that, but as I mentioned it's for mc wheel so it's either: ~76mm radial or ~91mm for one cross. Yes, rims ERD might differ, holes slightly different too. And again, what I want to find out what spoke lengths people used for 16'' moto rim. I got option either get 90mm o...

AFAIK, you'd need to know *which* moto rim, and what lacing pattern, because the ERD will be different for different ones of each of those.
I want more answers than riddles.
Just tell me what length you used and what pattern. It's 16'' mc wheel for god's sake.

spoke length for 16'' moto rim for 205 hub

Could you share what spoke length you used for 16'' moto rim with 205 qs hub or mxus 205 3kw.

I did not try this one but this is big heavy tire - 100/90-19 compared to say 3.0x17

Re: Sabvoton 72150 phase testing, no combination works

Nice. Good news. Your halls are fine. I also find 120 specified everywhere next to Sabvoton. I don't know about determining hall angle in a motor. I would be interested to find out how to determine it. I mostly used qs hubs and sabvotons controllers therefore and never had a need to figure it out. U...

Re: Sabvoton 72150 phase testing, no combination works

What's hall test outcome when resistor added? That explains why results are different when measured with controller connected and making test with external power source.

Re: 19" Motorcycle Wheels vs 26" Bicycle Wheels (rim and tires)

I have a custom build project I'm working on. The question I have is then is it possible to put a 110/80 -19 M/C 59S TT on a 20 inch bicycle rim instead of the. 19x2.5 motorcycle rim it says. I'm building a chopper bicycle with a electric wheel hub on front tire and this is the tire going on the re...

Re: Sabvoton 72150 phase testing, no combination works

It can be that old controller is sensorless.

Halls can be cooked by static charges or when (if) it connected to phase wires accidently.

Re: Sabvoton 72150 phase testing, no combination works

BTW I searched your old controller in internet to find out if its sensored or sensorless or both but can't find it. Not long ago I had some motor with faulty hall(s). When connecting it to Sabvoton I would get "hall error" without needed to touch/spin hub motor. I did this controller connect/disconn...

Re: Sabvoton 72150 phase testing, no combination works

I watched your video several times trying to figure out where is the catch, why there is no any output signal from any three halls ie yellow, blue, green signal wires. One thing pop up into my mind. Why to supply black/ground ("-") to controllers halls connector. You can supply "-" straight from your ...

Re: Sabvoton 72150 phase testing, no combination works

Maybe your old controller can work in sensorless mode and halls are faulty indeed. Or maybe halls partially broken and your old controller can work with it and Sabvoton can not. I'm saying because I know you tried various phase and hall combinations. I hope your tried correct ones. Even with correct...

Re: KTY83/122

Well, I found out that I can't use a any temp display. Someone had experience mounting external temp display with some kty inside a motor? Also sabvoton is tied to KTY83/122. Installing different kty sensor temp will be off. Resistance at 25C should be 1010ohms typical. Assuming can't source the sen...

I did not plan it but few hours ago some guy arrived for advice with few motors and one of these looks like 273. I gave him new 205 and got this one, swapped. Both hall pairs are faulty. Peeked inside, looks clean, like new. Unfortunately don't have pics of inside. Tire looks unused at all. I wonder...

Re: QS 205 vs QS 273 watts consumption

Exactly how it is. Fast wounded hubs needs lots of amps to achieve similar thrust, also small diameter light wheel helps too. Mostly folks have Kelly's Sabvotons or some similar cheaper controllers in 80-150 amps range. Also batteries in frames mostly are 18650 in 100 - 300pcs which have certain lim...

Re: QS 205 vs QS 273 watts consumption

Meaning accelerate I guess, but wrong statement. Slow windings of the same motor don’t have any more torque starting from a standstill. They just require less power to achieve their optimal acceleration, but fast windings can be fed more power, for a longer period. So, acceleration is more economic...
